PEDESTRIAN FOOTBRIDGE BANNER POLICY

Adopted by the Port of Hood River Commission on April 6, 2010

1. Permission must be granted by the Port of Hood River prior to placement of any banner on the Pedestrian Footbridge.

2. Banners must advertise a specific event and date (month-date-year) and cannot be placed more than two weeks prior to the event. The banner and ties must be completely removed immediately following the event.

3. Public access must be kept clear at all times.

4. Banners must not be placed that are political in nature, advertise recurring events (e.g. weekly markets, for example), or commercial businesses. Banners with objectionable subject matter or language (e.g. discriminatory or offensive, for example) will not be permitted on the Pedestrian Footbridge as determined by the Port.

5. Banners must be securely placed by the event organizer and space must be shared with existing banners. Any conflicts will be resolved by Port staff.

6. It is the sole responsibility of the event organizer to monitor the banner during the time it is placed on the Pedestrian Footbridge to ensure the placement remains secure. The Port of Hood River is not responsible for a lost and/or damaged banner.

7. Any damage to the Pedestrian Footbridge must be reported immediately to the Port of Hood River office at 1000 E. Port Marina Drive, Hood River OR 97031; or by calling the Port at (541) 386-1645.

8. The Port has a right to request the removal of any banner placed on the Pedestrian Footbridge. It is also the right of the Port to remove any banner that does not comply with these guidelines. The Port is not responsible for any damage that may occur to a banner that is removed by the Port.

9. Any banner removed by the Port will be retained in Port "Lost & Found" for a period no longer than three months if the Port cannot identify who placed the banner.
