New Website!

As you may have noticed, things have changed around here a bit. We decided back in December of 2006 that in order to serve our community better and provide more interactivity and transparency of Port affairs to the public, it was time to update our old website designed by staff in 2000. So, out with the old, in with the new. The result of our Request for Proposals was to hire WebRock Design, of Hood River, to do a professional job. And what a great job they did!

We are pleased to present the new look of the Port of Hood River website, which shows not only design updates but also allows for a whole range of technological improvements and dynamic content to serve you better. Some updates are live now, and some are still under construction.

These include:

Hot Topics - a list of current events and items concerning Port activity
Upcoming Events - another list, of scheduled events
Give Feedback - every article has a feedback form on it now, so if there is a problem, or you just want to add your $.02, you can easily.
Dynamic Weather - our weather and webcam page shows live conditions, as well as a 2 day forecast for Hood River.
Bridge/Waterfront cam (coming soon) - a live webcam will be set up so you can check the bridge traffic before heading home...sometimes its a better idea to swing by Full Sail first to wait for traffic to clear!
Port Surveys - we are set to implement relevant surveys of important topics to the community, then we'll provide instant results so you can see what other people really think.
